When it comes to our health, there can be no bigger scare than hearing you have cancer. Immediately, your mind will be barraged by an endless stream of questions with no immediate answer and a sudden sense of our own mortality. You will also be faced with breaking the news to family, if you choose to do so — all this on top of the actual treatment itself.

However, cancer should not be as feared as it once was. Not so many years ago a cancer diagnosis meant almost certain death but science and research have made great steps in finding treatments and cures for many, many types of cancer. Certain health insurance companies even offer packages that specifically cover cancers so we can do all we can to help ourselves by taking out health insurance and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Every year in the UK over one thousand women will die from cervical cancer. It is the twelfth most common cancer for women to contract and we have a 0.8% chance of facing it in our lifetime. It is caused by the HPV (human papilloma virus) which can take up to twenty years to develop. This is why screening is so important. Screening is carried out regularly for women between the ages of 25 and 65 and detects early changes that could lead to cervical cancer. This means that it can be dealt with quickly and effectively.

However, with still so many women dying, it obviously wasn’t catching everyone and a vaccine was needed. Hence, we now have the HPV vaccine currently being rolled out in a campaign to vaccinate all school girls, beginning with the 12-13 year age group. The vaccine is given in three stages over six months.

A spanner has now been thrown in the works with the death of one young girl which occurred within an hour of her receiving the HPV vaccine. Authorities say she had an underlying health issue that contributed to her death but this will be enough to scare some parents into holding their daughters back from receiving the vaccine.

Of course, you cannot perfect any vaccine that will be suitable for everyone and if you know of any health problems you have, then of course, you can take this into account. The only problem is a health issue that you don’t know about and nobody wants their child to be the ONE.

Now, we can eat healthily, exercise regularly, take up offered vaccines that we feel comfortable with and take out life insurance to cope quickly with anything that is thrown our way but we cannot insure against the unexpected. All we can really do is be vigilant and learn to listen to our bodies and hope for the best!

Catherine Parker looks at how health insurance is just one of the things we can do to help ourselves and our families.

The prostate gland sits below the bladder and is an important part of a male body. Most men don’t give any importance to maintaining prostate health which leads to a number of prostate related problems in men. Incorporating some simple exercise into your daily routine will help keep the prostate healthier and also prevent many problems associated with the gland such as involuntary urination and prostate cancer.

Lunges

Lunges works out your glutes, hamstrings, prostate, quads and calf muscles. They are more effective when combined with exercises like squats. The routine starts with you standing straight with one leg forward and the other backward. Holding a comfortable weight, slowly move the front knee downwards to a 90 degree position. Keep your back straight and look straight forward. Hold this position for at least 10 seconds, ease your weight back on your heels and push yourself slowly back to the position you started in. repeat 12 to 16 times and then switch legs. This exercise should be done just once or twice every week and you will need to do 2-3 set per leg.

Squats

Squats, like the lunges, work your hamstrings, calves, glutes and quads. They also strengthen the muscles around the prostate gland. Stronger muscles in this area can help prevent involuntary urination. Start with your feet apart and standing straight. Keep your feet hip-width apart and the toes should point straight. Tightly pull in your abs and ensure your thighs are parallel to the ground. When bending, 90 degrees is the maximum you should bend. The exercise should be repeated 12-16 daily.

Yoga

Yoga can help keep the prostrate fit and healthy. Certain yoga postures such as Seated Sun and Knee Squeeze increase the flow of blood into the groin and pelvic muscles. There are yoga postures similar to regular pelvic floor exercises that can strengthen the muscles in the lower body and help prevent problems related to the urinary system such as dribbling of urine and pain while passing urine.

Pelvic Floor Exercise

The pelvic floor exercise works the muscles by contracting and relaxing them rhythmically. While relaxing the muscles all you need to do is leave the muscles. This routine can be repeated several times. It is necessary keep the muscles tight, as hard as you can, and allowing the muscles to relax completely afterwards.

Miracle Exercise

There are some exercises considered to be the “miracle prostate exercise” and claims to cure several health issues. These exercises will strengthen the prostate muscles and keep the organ healthy. To start the routine, stand up, inhale and exhale deeply. Exhale fully when you take the last breath and then suck in your stomach. Holding the position, squeeze your body’s to promote blood flow. You will feel all the muscles between your pubic area and chest lifting. Now relax and inhale, allowing your torso to return to normal. This routine can be repeated 3-5 times every day but remember to wait a minute or two before each repetition.

We are constantly being told to avoid the sun as much as possible. We are told to cover up and nearly every skin product that we buy seems to contain sunscreen. However, now there is some evidence that a small amount of sun exposure may actually be healthy.

There are two most frequent reasons that we are told to avoid exposure to the sun are skin cancer and aging. This article is going to discuss some new studies on melanoma, how the situation may not be so straightforward, and some evidence that a small sensible amount of exposure to sunlight may have health benefits.

There are a number of types of skin cancer, with melanoma being the one that scares us. Other precancerous and cancerous lesions such as actinic keratoses, squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma are much more common. These other types of skin cancer, particularly if they are detected early, are in most cases very treatable.

Is the rate of melanoma increasing or not?
An increasing rate of melanoma is often given as evidence for not getting sun exposure. Data collected has suggested that there has been quite a significant rise in the number of cases of that have been diagnosed.

However, a new study (Br. J. Dermatol. 161:630-4, 2009) suggests that the rates may not really be rising. This study found that diagnoses of Stage 1 have risen by about 50%, but the number of people with late stage, and number of deaths from melanoma has not risen significantly.

The authors conclude that the apparent increase in early stage diagnoses is due to more benign (non-cancerous) lesions being diagnosed as Stage 1. They think that there has been “diagnostic drift” and there should be development of better diagnostic criteria for deciding what is or is not Stage 1. Additionally, this suggests a second opinion may be a good idea upon diagnosis with melanoma.

If the incidence of melanoma is not rising as the research suggests, what effect does this have on recommendations for sun exposure?

Why do we need vitamin D? How does this vitamin impact melanoma?
When skin is exposed to moderate to strong sun, it makes pre-vitamin D (D3, cholecalciferol). This process is very tightly regulated, once enough has been made, the body will break down the extra in the skin. The pre-vitamin is converted, as required, to the final form by the liver and kidneys. Generally our diet, even when eating fortified foods does not contain sufficient of this vitamin.

Vitamin D is important for a number of body processes. A deficiency results in a weaker immune system, higher blood pressure, osteoporosis and a range of other poor health conditions. As discussed below, Vitamin D seems to play a role in cancer prevention.

Additionally, new research compared the level of vitamin D, at the time of diagnosis, to the outcomes of those diagnosed with melanoma. Those with higher levels of the vitamin had thinner tumors and a better survival rate. (J. Clin. Oncol. Sept 21 epub ahead of print; Newton-Bishop et al.) This researchers did not differentiate between those who got more sun exposure and those who took supplements. However, this is certainly another piece of evidence for the benefits of not being vitamin D deficient. Hopefully the researchers are analyzing their data further, to establish if the source of vitamin D is important.

Does some sun exposure equal less overall cancer risk?
It has been known for many years that there the overall rate of many cancers cancer drops moving closer to the equator, from the more temperate latitudes. Cancers for which there is a lower incidence include breast, colon, ovarian and prostate. This suggests that those exposed to sun on a daily basis may have more protection against cancer.

Interestingly, when looking at populations in countries at different latitudes there are often similar ranges of vitamin D levels in the bodies of those with high levels of sunlight and those who live in regions with less sunlight. (This could be due to the supplementation of foods in the higher latitudes.) However, there is still the gradient of cancers. This suggests that is not just vitamin D that is key but the making of the vitamin is made by the body is important (PNAS 105:668-73, 2008).

In Australia for many years there has been a very aggressive campaign to get people to get much less sun exposure. The campaign is called Slip-Slop-Slap, which is slip on a shirt, slop on sunscreen and slap on a hat. The campaign was started in 1981 and is now part of the culture. However, the (apparent) incidence of melanoma has continued to increase (though the incidence of squamous cell and basal cell carcinomas have decreased). This increase is thought to be due to more of the population becoming vitamin D deficient since now many are getting little or no sun exposure on the skin.

Sensible sun exposure
If you get little or no sun, should you start to get more? This is for you to decide. If you decide that you want to get your vitamin D from the sun, the key is sensible sun exposure. The current guidelines suggest 10 to 15 minutes, twice per week, on part of the body, in the summer when UV levels are high, and proportionally more in the winter. The body parts can be arms, back, tummy, legs – it does not have to be the face. Sitting out for extended periods in the sun is definitely more harmful than getting no exposure at-all. Make any sun exposure that you get sensible.

In conclusion
The incidence of melanoma may actually not be rising. The apparent increase may be due to more benign lesions being classed as Stage 1.

Perhaps, the current advice that any and all sun exposure is bad, may soon be revised, and medicinal doses of sun prescribed.

An increasing number of pieces of evidence suggest that we may actually be healthiest if we get small amounts of sensible sun exposure.

Are Men Sufficiently Aware of Men’s Health Issues?

In general, men tend to avoid medical checkups and regular visits to doctors, until the symptoms of their illnesses produce an emergency situation. Men ignore the tale tell signs of onset of chronic illnesses which needs changes in life style, diet and medical attention to manage without facing aggravated medical situations. This is why men are more susceptible to death from the top fatal diseases such as heart diseases, strokes, kidney problems, diabetes and prostate cancer. Here are some of the main health issues which all men should be in the lookout and seek immediate medical treatment at initial symptom stage itself.

Heart Disease

Men are more susceptible to heart diseases as their dietary patterns, inactive life style, alcohol consumption and smoking habits, as well as high cholesterol are major contributors to this illness. 7 per every 1000 men in the age group of 35-44 experience heart related illnesses while women develop such symptoms almost 10 years later. There is almost a 5 year gap between the average ages at which men experience their first heart attack vs., the age which women experience the same. These data reiterate the fact that heart diseases are a primary concern which men should take both preventive action and be defensive about. Being defensive includes visiting the physicians regularly and getting the cholesterol levels checked as well as the health and condition of the heart with checkups and tests such as EKGs or ECGs, Echocardiograms and Chest X rays.

Colon Cancer

Colon cancer is concerned with cancerous growth in the rectum area and is one of the most common cancers in men. If detected early, it can be cured while late detection results in high risks of death. The risk of illness increase with age and those with family history of colon cancers should be especially careful. Other risk factors include polyps, high fat diets, and suffering from Cohn’s disease. This condition can be treated with surgical removal of cancerous growth, chemotherapy, and radiation. Due to the fact that this illness only displays symptoms at later stages of illness, it is highly recommended that everyone above the age of 50 take a test intended to detect colon cancer. The most common test method is a Colonoscopy in which a small instrument called the Colonoscopy, attached with a camera is used to examine the inside of the large intestine. Such a test allows for detecting and removal of abnormal grows as polyps and testing them for cancer. The test also helps see swelling, inflammations etc. which needs further medical attention.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is an illness which all men should be careful of as it can be life threatening. Prostate glands produce fluid for semen and develop mainly after the age of 40. When men suffer from prostate cancer, the substance called prostate specific antigen or PSA increases. Therefore, the detection of this illness is mainly through PSA tests. The symptoms to look out for include pain and difficulty in passing urine, pack pains, and pain while ejaculating. This is the third contributor to death among men in America.

Low or High Testosterone Levels

Testosterone is an important hormone for the functioning of the male body and affects their libido and fertility. If the levels are high it can bring on early puberty in boys. In most cases, the issue is with the low levels of the testosterones that lead to various conditions in men such as decreased libido and sex drive, erectile dysfunction, testicular tumors and infertility. Tests can identify the levels and physicians can recommend appropriate remedial medications. Various drugs can affect the testosterone levels and while alcohol consumption and related diseases in the liver can reduce the hormone.

While there are numerous other health issues which men should be alert to, these are some of the main health risks faced by them. Being alert to symptoms and undergoing regular checkups can help prevent these disease reaching stages that cost our lives.

As with any element, the best source of these vitamins is the foods that we eat on a daily basis. Ideally most fruits and vegetables contain high amounts of antioxidants. Antioxidants are also found in high amounts in fruits that are dark blue, deep red, and dark green. As an alternative, the salt form of the mineral can be added to table salt. This is common in countries where there is no large public or centralized treatment facility for drinking water purification. Less people on our planet is not the answer. Open borders is no good solution. Pragmatically, taking the golden idols worshiped in some nations and turning them into coins would greatly help their population’s survival rate. Honoring God and His ways would increase people’s wellbeing in all areas of their social life.

In the most advanced countries, drinking water is safe and they’re already treated to meet International Safety Standard, not like in the poor countries that they’ve to dwell on making some innovation just to give safe drinking water to its populace. If you are serviced by a public treatment facility, the chances are good that they use an RO step. So, why are there still contaminants coming out of your tap? To remember, the most important thing is how to share awareness that asbestos is a hazardous material, and then it should take preventive actions by inspecting our environment from asbestos. Inhale asbestos in a long period can cause mesothelioma, a sort of lung cancer, its treatment is difficult and deadly.

Public water supply is a huge cause of concern all over the world. There have been many instances in the past when contaminated water has been supplied to homes and consumed by people without knowing the consequences and reality. Secondly, knowing the labels is the next thing you need to consider. The labels will help you to know the ingredients contained so you will be sure that it will be safe for your needs or not so you can determine the best one for your needs. Chemical additives can be found in almost all processed foods we buy today. If a product is not labelled as Preservative, Flavour or Colour free it can be assumed it likely contains some form of chemical. Chances are several foods in your home pantry contain some form of chemical flavour, colour or preservative.

Amid the four segments, special mention needs to be made of the Eureka Forbes water filter. Depending on the type of filter you need, you can get any; get the water checked so that you know whether you need ultra violet or reverse osmosis or other mechanisms or blend of technologies. Fluoride and other contaminants aside, we still must find a way to have healthy drinking water. Coffee, sodas, and other commercial drinks don’t adequately hydrate the body like pure water does. Lack of water in the body weakens immunity and increases susceptibility to disease because water actually protects cells from diseases and viruses. You can find healthy canned salmon recipes to bring some flavor to your best summer salad. You can add salmon to a classic Waldorf salad, a fruity summer salad, or even a Caesar salad. Any of these can be an elegant appetizer or a filling and fresh main course.

Many men have already learned about the benefits of anal stimulation and the art of prostate massage. While other men, are afraid to even talk about it. This can be an uncomfortable topic for most men since it has been programmed into us since childhood, that anal stimulation in men has been primarily associated with homosexuals. The old saying “exit only” comes to mind, when thinking of anything along those lines, by most men. Anal stimulation is something many men want to do on their partner, but would never consider as an option for themselves. What better way to get her to try it than trying it yourself.

So why would any man want to experiment with anal stimulation and prostate massage, you might ask, after being lead to believe it just isn’t normal for a man to have anything penetrate their anus. Being a little homophobic may play a large role for most men trying to decide if they would even consider such a thing. Anal play is not just for homosexuals. Anyone who wants to experience an extreme orgasm like no other should consider prostate massage. Have you ever thought to yourself, wouldn’t it be great if that feeling right as you ejaculate, could last just a little longer, or even last as long as you wanted it too. This is very possible while massaging the prostate gland.

Prostate massage can be done by means of external massage or through penetration to stimulate it internally. The latter being the most intense and it produces the best effects. This can be done either through self massage or with a partner doing the massage for you. The prostate is located just below the bladder, in the muscles of the pelvic floor. These are the same muscles that contract during orgasm and ejaculation. Massaging the prostate releases tremendous amounts of emotional and physical stress and can be extremely pleasurable.

Aside from the pleasure that can be experienced, there are health benefits to prostate massage. Regular ejaculations help to keep the prostate healthy. Massage will stimulate blood flow to the entire region and flush prostatic fluid, keeping new fresh fluid ready to be used. This is beneficial to prostate health by means of increasing blood flow to the prostate and the pelvic region, including the penis. Fresh blood flow brings the nutrients and oxygen to cells, needed to maintain a healthy prostate. The prostate is more likely to become infected or cancerous when blood flow is constricted from muscular tension and the lack of stimulation. Have you ever heard the saying “use it or lose it”?

Prostate cancer is something we have all heard of, and have associated with older men. Rarely will you hear of a young man being diagnosed with prostate cancer. It is just a fact that, as we get older, our body’s just don’t repair themselves as easily as when we where young. Younger men are more sexually active, and blood flow to the pelvic region is abundant, producing very hard erections and their high level of sexual activity keeps the prostate cleaned out. Not keeping fresh fluid and a healthy blood flow can lead to an enlarged prostate, which in turn leads to urinary problems and can affect the ability to achieve an erection if gone untreated. Stimulation of the prostate can be beneficial to increasing blood flow back to the region and can lead to improvements and even complete recovery of impotence in some cases.

So now that we know losing it is not an option anyone wants. Are you ready to use it If so, there are a few things you should know. Any kind of massage should always be done with care. Any type of prostate massage should be done very gently, using caution not to apply to much pressure. This area is very sensitive and only needs light pressure to stimulate it. Cleanliness is always important, as well as being sure to empty your bladder, before starting.

No matter which method is used, it is not possible to touch the prostate directly. Through the anus is the most effective way, it will just take time to adjust to being penetrated in this way. Prostate massage with your partner is a very intimate activity, and a man placing himself into such a vulnerable position with his partner, in an unaccustomed submissive role, can act as physiological stimulation for your partner. This kind of activity can be just as much of an exciting experience for them, as it is for you.

Now that you’re clean and ready, start with your partner getting ready. The use of form fitting latex surgical gloves is a desirable addition. This will help to protect the delicate anal membranes from sharp fingernails and rough skin. As well, the lubricated rubber surface of the glove will glide much easier than a bare lubricated finger. Now, find a position that will be comfortable for both, preferably facing each other for beginners.

Lying on your back, slightly propped with pillows, with your knees pulled towards your chest somewhat, with you partner between your legs facing you, is a good place to start. It will help to relax before starting, and it may help if your partner starts by massaging your abdomen and inner thighs, slowly working towards your genitals. During this part of the massage, you may want to close your eyes and try to relax as much as possible. But as your partner proceeds with the massage, maintaining eye contact is important so they can see what feels good and what does not. This can also be very sensual and arousing to both parties.

It will be up to your partner to decide when the time is right to start the actual massage. This depends on when you appear sufficiently relaxed and aroused. To start the stimulation process, using a lubricated finger, lubricate the anus opening and massage the perineum (area between the scrotum and anus). This will help relax the pelvic muscles and make penetration much easier. Never just try to poke a finger into the anus before it is relaxed and ready. Be sure to use plenty of lube during this process, rubbing in circular motions, stroking the anal opening. The objective here is to pleasure and relax the nervous rosebud.

Continue rubbing and stroking the anus until it is completely relaxed. Gently apply pressure to the anus as you rub and massage. When the time is right, a well lubed finger will easily slip right in, almost as if it is being pulled into the anus. Your partner is now ready to find your prostate and begin the massage. The prostate is located approximately two inches inside the rectum, and can be found at the base of the penis from inside the rectum. Using an upwards crooked finger feel for an oblong or round protrusion, and apply gentle pressure and begin a rubbing motion. Applying more or less pressure to the gland will provide a variety of sensations. A slight in and out motion will also give different sensations. Your partner will be able to control these sensations; even to the point of inhibiting you from ejaculating.

Eye contact is most desirable at this phase of the experience, as well as verbal communication. Various scenarios are possible and can involve masturbation, either by your partner on you, or doing it yourself while your partner massages your prostate. Which ever way you agree on, will be a very pleasurable experience. Climax and ejaculation are even possible without touching the penis at all, if so desired. The first time you ejaculate with out any penis stimulation can be a real exciting site for you and your partner. Watching your erect penis throb as you ejaculate, without them ever touching it, will be a completely new experience for them, and likely excite them very much. An erection is not needed with this type of stimulation, although the ejaculation may not be as powerful without it. The sensation will be just as powerful, and may last much longer and even continue with no ejaculation.

Being kept on the brink of ejaculation by varying pressure on the prostate is the best technique. Having the feeling of ejaculating without the actual ejaculation, is where the real pleasure comes in to play. This type of stimulation can be continued for extended periods and can produce the feeling of many intense orgasms. It can produce a very powerful orgasm, especially when done in conjunction with genital stimulation. Experiment and find what combination works best. Once you have mastered manual prostate massage, either by yourself, or with the help of your partner, you can move to the next level and add sex toys and massagers for a whole new experience.

The lethal dust of asbestos despite being banned from residential and commercial buildings, however still inflicts deadly diseases which can only be restricted through strict implementation of the law. To save the public from asbestos exposure, legislation banning the import of this deadly asbestos and banning the use of the rest of the asbestos products is the imminent need of the hour. The construction companies and their suppliers should through additional legislation be prevented to use this dangerous material which gives death to living beings. To prevent this health menace it’s extremely important to remove existing asbestos and demolish its entire construction works.

Its not that the dangers posed by asbestos and its products to human health have gone unnoticed. As far back as in the year 1970 the asbestos industry voluntarily banned the import of raw blue asbestos and from 1980 a similar voluntary ban was imposed on brown asbestos. Finally, in the year 1986, the United Kingdom Government legally prohibited the use, supply and import of the blue and brown asbestos, including asbestos spraying and fitting of asbestos filling. Different laws such as the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, The Control of Pollution Act 1974, The Asbestos Products (Safety) Regulations, 1985, The Consumer Safety Act 1978, The Control of Pollution (Special Waste) Regulations, 1980, The Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations, 1983, The Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 1987, as amended in 1992, The Collection and Disposal of Waste Regulations, 1988, The Water Act 1989, The Trade Effluents (Prescribed Processes and Substances) Regulations, 1989, The Control of Asbestos in Air Regulations, 1990, and The Asbestos (Prohibitions) Regulations, 1992, have already been enacted by Parliament.

The laws which directly regulate work with asbestos are contained in the Asbestos (Licensing) Regulations, 1983, the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations 1987 as amended in 1992, and the Asbestos (Prohibitions) Regulations, 1992.
The Institute of Occupational Medicine runs the national quality control scheme to monitor the ability of laboratories to count the fibres accurately. Initially, the laboratories only counted the number of fibres present on membrane filters and identified the type of asbestos present in large samples. However after 1992 they also got approved to conduct air sampling in accordance with HSE method MDHS 39/3. At this time there are over 100 laboratories certified by National Accreditation of Measurement and Sampling for asbestos appraisal and 12 of which are approved for asbestos sampling. Samples which are drawn four times a year are sent to the laboratories which are categorized into 1, 2 and 3 groups. The group 3 is considered unacceptable. The laboratories send their analysis back to RICE.

The aim is to limit the exposure to asbestos to a minimum which is below the control limits of 0.01 respirable fibres/ml of air, and apply to people working with asbestos and not to other employees or the public. Even at this level there exist 10,000 fibres per cubic metre in the air. Since one human being requires one cubic metre of air to inhale per hour there is enormous risk involved. As per research in US, any person breathing this level of asbestos for ten years would have a 3 out of 1000 risk to develop asbestos cancer.

The system that provides immunity to the body, consists of various other systems, and one of them is Lymphatic. Non Hodgkins Large Cell Lymphoma is a cancer of this system. This cancer makes, cells of the lymphatic system to reproduce abnormally. The result of this is the growth of tumours, and the disease is also known to spread to the other tissues and organs of the body.

Non Hodgkins Large Cell Lymphoma mostly affects children in the age group of 7 to 11 years. This disease is also known to manifest any time between infancy and becoming an adult. Among the sexes, males are much more prone to this disease, and the ratio is, for every 1 female affected, there will be three males having the disease. Children of the Caucasian race are prone to this cancer, then any other race.

It is the large size of the cells that characterizes this type of cancer among the various non Hodgkins lymphomas. The Large Cell Lymphoma also can be classified into three types, which are Immunoblastic lymphoma, anaplastic large cell lymphoma and non-specified large cell lymphoma. The T cells develop into Anaplastic large cell lymphoma, and B cells develop into the other two types. As non hodgkins large cell lymphoma, affects the system of the lymph tissues, the affectation will be in the area of chest, neck, throat and abdomen. If the spread of this disease is not checked in time, it will affect even the brain and bone marrow.

There are four stages to this disease, and each subsequent stage is considered more severe in terms of the spread of the disease. In stage 1, the tumour is in one location in the body. In stage 2 there are tumours in two or more locations, on one side of the body. When the tumours have spread to both sides, the disease has entered stage 3. In stage 4, the disease has affected the bone marrow. In this stage it can also affect the central nervous system. The last stage is further categorized by the severity of the affectation of the bone marrow and the number of cancer cells which are present.

Unfortunately, non hodgkins large cell lymphoma, progresses very quickly and by the time the symptoms are noticed, it is usually passed the second stage. In children where the abdominal area is affected you will find symptoms like loss of appetite, fever, constipation and pain in the abdomen. If the chest area is affected, children will get wheezing, cough, and pain while breathing deeply. The other symptoms which one can watch out for, are lymph node swellings which are painless, pain in the joints and bones, feeling of tiredness, heavy sweating at night, itching and sudden weight loss.

The treatment for non hodgkins large cell lymphoma, will depend on the age of the patient, the spread of the disease and the patient’s tolerance to different curative procedures and medicines. Presently the main treatment given is chemotherapy, but it has a lot of side effects.

Asbestos is the definition given to the six types of silicate materials that are found on earth. These materials are very strong and useful in constructing buildings, because of their beneficial properties. They are usually used as insulation for roofing, siding, and for sealing agents like wall compounds. Asbestos is resilient to high temperatures and extremely durable, but the fibers are detrimental to human health. In industry this material was a popular choice for manufacturing, due to its variable uses and strengthening properties.

Mesothelioma is a rare form of virulent cancer that attacks the linings of the lungs, heart, and other organs within the abdominal cavity. This cancer is directly linked with asbestos inhalation. Symptoms of mesothelioma include shortness of breath, persistent coughing (dry, hacking), and chest pain.

Unfortunately, it can take years for mesothelioma to develop and the symptoms can often be mistaken for another disease. Treatment for mesothelioma can include chemotherapy drugs, Radiotherapy (using radiation to kill cancerous cells), and even surgery to remove malignant tissue or tumors. Other treatments can be attempted, in some cases, to prolong life further. For example, mesothelioma immunotherapy uses the body’s immune system to attack and starve cancer cells. This type of treatment is passive and is meant to increase the life expectancy of many mesothelioma patients.

10,000 people in the U.S die each year from asbestos-related diseases like mesothelioma. In response to this, many victims have filed asbestos lawsuits. Asbestos products have been banned in 60 countries worldwide, but there is no ban in the U.S. Over 1.3 million workers might have been unknowingly exposed to the dangers of asbestos material. Asbestos lawsuits help these victims come forward and provide them an opportunity to obtain potential compensation for damages to their health. Because of the many asbestos lawsuits, most manufacturers have replaced asbestos with substitute materials. One common challenge of asbestos lawsuits is the long latency period, in which symptoms for the disease will show up years after exposure. The funds received from potential compensation from a lawsuit makes initiating an asbestos lawsuits important to consider for anyone suffering from mesothelioma.
