Malignant mesothelioma is the cancer of the mesothelium. Mesothelium is the protective lining that covers most of the internal organs of the body. The most common type is pleural mesothelioma. Pleural mesothelioma is the cancer of the linings of the lungs. We also have peritoneal mesothelioma, endothelial mesothelioma, e.t.c.

Malignant mesothelioma is a cancer, where the cells in the linings of chest or abdomen, thought it is rare type of cancer it is caused by working where you are exposed to asbestos particles in air.
The Malignant mesothelioma is affecting of the layer of specialized cells called mesotheliali cells that line the inside of chest, abdomen and space around heart. These cells also form a cover to the outer surface of most of internal organs i.e. this lining of cells is called mesothelium. This lining of mesothelium protects organs by making a special lubricating fluid that allows organs to move around. For example to explain the importance of fluid, it makes lungs to move inside the chest easier during breathing. The mesotheliums have different names in different parts of human body:
• In chest: pleura.
• In abdomen: peritoneum.
• In the space around the heart: pericardium.

Malignant mesothelioma: a cancer that starts in cells in the linings of the chest or abdomen.
A layer of specialized cells called mesothelial cells forms a lining inside and outside of abdomen, chest and space around heart and this lining is called mesothelium. These cells make special lubricant fluid which is important for movement of organs inside the body.
Malignant mesothelioma:
The cancerous tumor of the mesothelium is called a malignant mesothelioma, though this is often simply shortened and referred as mesothelioma. Mesothelioma’s can start in 4 main areas in the body.
Pleural mesotheliomas: the chest cavity. They account for about 3 out of 4 mesotheliomas.
