You are on your way of having a baby. Your heart leaped with joy the moment you found out this good news. Imagine in just a few months you will be having a baby of your own, a baby that will certainly bring happiness to your family. But the joy that you felt was suddenly vanished the when you heard from your doctor that you have an ovarian cyst while you are having your pregnancy. Sadness was totally an understatement. You were shocked and during that moment an unexplainable fear filled your heart. You are not only thinking of yourself because there is this much important person that you worry about – your baby. You were lost and you just don’t know the exact things to do.

If you are in this situation the first thing that you have to do is to calm down. Yes, your emotions must really be strong but the stress might just make the situation worse. You must always remember that cysts are not that unusual during pregnancy. Studies have shown that there is only 1 out of 1000 women who are affected by cysts and majority of the ovarian cysts that are found during the pregnancy are benign. It is said that there is only 1 in 25,000 births that is affected by ovarian cyst cancer.

To find out if your ovarian cyst during pregnancy is benign or malignant, the usual thing that every doctor will do is to conduct an ovarian cyst ultrasound. You will know that your cyst is benign if you will see in the ultrasound that it is just fluid-filled. But if the cyst has septation or thick walls then it is considered as malignant. So there is nothing much to worry if you has cyst that is benign during your pregnancy because it has the capacity to just resolved on its own. But the situation is not the same if you have larger cyst even it is benign because unlike smaller cyst, larger cyst have the possibility to rupture or twist on itself. Any of these possibilities can be dangerous for you and the baby. These might be a cause of the preterm delivery of your baby or worse, miscarriage. So an ovarian cyst removal is really suggested.

If your cyst is more than 6-8cm. then it is considered as large and can be removed through a surgery. It is better if you will try to observe its size. If you notice that the size is not reduced then you must find a way to remove it because this will surely affect the growth of your baby on your womb.

Laparoscopy is the usual solution in some cyst. Open incision on the other hand is done if the size of the cyst happens to be very large. If your cyst is already causing so many burdens on you, if you are already suffering from too much pain, if it is solid, or if it has irregular shape then an ovarian cyst surgery to remove it can be your option. You can undergo an operation if you are on your 14-16 weeks of pregnancy because the baby is still small during this time.

Chamomile herbal tea, milk thistle, or Echinacea can do some miracles if the pain that you are experiencing is not that severe. Always remember that you don’t need to worry too much even if a surgery may be needed in your case because others who have already been in your situation have delivered healthy babies normally.

Ladies who screen positive for gene strains that promote breast and ovarian cancer usually go for surgery to chop their chance of the illnesses, new research indicates.

The study, reported within the journal Cancer, adopted 465 ladies who were examined for strains within the genes BRCA1 and BRCA2 that substantially raise the lifetime perils associated with breast and ovarian cancer.

It found which more than 80 % of ladies who examined positive for that dangerous strains ultimately made a decision to have surgery to get rid of their sex gland, breasts or both.

“Many of the ladies who tested positive did try taking some kind of action,” stated lead investigator Dr. Marc D. Schwartz, from the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center in Washington, D.C.

That could not appear surprising. But Schwartz stated there’s been some skepticism about the number of women with BRCA strains would choose to obtain their sex gland or breasts removed.

“It is a difficult decision to possess prophylactic (preventive) surgery,” Schwartz noted within an interview.

“There is a notion that risk-reducing surgery, especially risk-reducing mastectomy, wasn’t something most mutation service providers would choose,” he stated.

But many studies about the problem, a minimum of within the U.S., happen to be short-term — searching at women’s options around approximately following a BRCA test result. Women in the present study were adopted for typically approximately 5 years.

Defects within the BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes substantially raise a ladies lifetime perils associated with breast and ovarian cancer — to some roughly 60 % possibility of developing cancer of the breast, along with a 15 to 40 % chance of ovarian cancer.

In comparison, the typical U.S. lady includes a 12 % possibility of developing cancer of the breast throughout her lifetime in support of single.4 % possibility of ovarian cancer.

Due to our prime risks, experts suggest that some women having a strong genealogy of breast or ovarian cancer be tested for that gene strains.

For ladies who test positive, it is a “pretty firm recommendation” they have their sex gland removed by about 40 years old, Schwartz stated.

Like ovarian cancer is tough to trap early and, therefore, includes a high dying rate. And research has discovered that whenever a lady includes a BRCA mutation, surgery to get rid of the sex gland not just slashes her chance of developing cancer by about 90 %, but could also extend her existence.

The tips about preventive mastectomy are less firm, Schwartz stated.

The surgery does cut carriers’ chance of cancer of the breast by roughly 90 %. But getting rid of only the sex gland works well too — cutting a mutation carrier’s cancer of the breast risk in two, because getting rid of the sex gland removes your body’s primary supply of oestrogen.

And in contrast to ovarian cancer, cancer of the breast can frequently be detected early: For ladies with BRCA strains who not possess a mastectomy, experts recommend regular screening without only mammography, but additionally MRI scans, that are better at recognizing breast growths within their earliest stages.

From the 465 women examined in the present study, 31 percent put together to transport BRCA strains.

There have been 100 mutation service providers who still had their sex gland, and 2-thirds ultimately elected to obtain their sex gland and fallopian tubes removed.

As well as 108 mutation service providers who still had a minumum of one breast, 37 percent chose to possess a mastectomy.

(The majority of the women within the study had recently been identified with breast or ovarian cancer once they made the decision to possess BRCA testing, so some had formerly had one breast or their sex gland removed.)

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Pressure, a specialist panel based on the us government, suggests that ladies with certain family-history designs of breast or ovarian cancer consider BRCA testing.

Which includes women who’ve had: two first-degree relatives (mother, sister or daughter) identified with cancer of the breast, among whom developed the condition by age 50 three or even more first- or second-degree relatives identified with cancer of the breast at all ages several first- or second-degree relatives with ovarian cancer.

A Couple Of percent of U.S. women would meet the requirements for thinking about BRCA testing, based on the USPSTF.

Based on Schwartz, the present findings “lend credence” to the fact that BRCA testing may ultimately really make a difference in carriers’ chance of developing breast and ovarian cancer, and perhaps extend their lives.

The main limitation from the study, he stated, is the fact that all the women were examined and received genetic counseling in a single clinic. “Out on the planet, the outcomes might be different,” Schwartz stated.

Individual doctors can, and progressively are, ordering BRCA testing. And ladies might obtain the genetic counseling that’s suggested for helping them decide what related to the exam result.

Which outcome is frequently not straightforward. A lot of women get what’s known as an “not yet proven” or “uninformative” result: They don’t have a known BRCA mutation, but the chance that they’ve some genetic abnormality can’t be eliminated.

That’s as opposed to a “true negative” BRCA result — in which a lady tests negative for strains which had formerly been present in a relative.

For ladies by having an not yet proven result, Schwartz stated, genetic counseling might help them decide how to proceed.

If their loved ones good reputation for breast or ovarian cancer is extremely strong, it may be assumed that there’s some kind of genetic risk. So that they may still consider preventive surgical procedures or possibly regular MRI screening for cancer of the breast.

Another one. For just 20 minutes at home, there are few things you can do to reduce swelling, pain, and pressure on your lower pelvic region.

You probably did not know this, but ovarian cysts developed because your bodys’ biology is in a mess. For example, imbalance insulin levels or hormones in your body can be the major causes for ovarian cysts to keep reoccurring.

What if I tell you by simply increasing your fiber intake, you are one step closer to the complete removal of ovarian cysts you have been thinking about all this while?

Now, would you be interested in joining thousands of other women worldwide and discover how they instantly relieve their constant pain and started shrinking their ovarian cyst within 3 days, eliminating them completely within 8 short weeks, all without ever using risky drugs or resorting to surgery… guaranteed?

If up until recently anyone would have told you that voluntarily you would sit down with a group of strangers to discuss your innermost feelings, the odds are good that you would have laughed. Unfortunately, being diagnosed with ovarian cancer most likely stood your world on its head and you may now find yourself a member of a cancer support group and more than willing to share your innermost feelings, secrets, hopes, and fears.

Relax! Ovarian cancer patients swear by cancer support groups and when you have the chance of joining one, you will be wise to do so. If you are still not quite certain if this is really something you want to do, here are the top five reasons to check out and join a cancer support group:

1.Cancer, unlike many other diseases and ailments, has a unique grouping of emotional ballasts and physical consequences that will wreak havoc in the life of the patient and of her loved ones. At times these changes come on gradually and the patient has time to prepare for them, but other times the diagnosis is followed by a whirlwind of activity, treatments, and changes that may be hard to take in by the patient. Ovarian cancer in particular requires quick and decisive treatment to better the odds of recovery. A cancer support group will help patients prepare for the changes their lives will undergo and also help them as they are experiencing them by banding together treatment veterans and newbies.

2.Physicians have found that treating the emotional aspects of the disease are as crucial as the physical manifestations thereof, and the support group is the best way of addressing common emotional experiences and fears without the need for psychological or psychiatric intervention. Ovarian cancer patients are often referred to support groups as part of their treatment program.

3.Women in particular have a hard time complaining about physical maladies. This is due in part because of their role as being the nurturer in the family and thus it is hard for a woman to find an outlet for her own fears and frustrations. An ovarian cancer support group provides the safe, confidential and sympathetic venue where she can vent, rant, and also complain without fearing that the family is adversely impacted.

4.Cancer support groups are unique in that they pair survivors with current sufferers of the disease. Those just diagnosed or undergoing treatment have the opportunity to discuss their fears and hopes, and also get the emotional boost to keep fighting the disease. While the treating doctors may attempt to provide such a forum, they can only do it to a limited extent. Within the confines of the ovarian cancer support group, those who have gone through it offer the support to the current patient to keep fighting and persevering through chemotherapy, hair loss, physical pain, and side effects in order to emerge cured on the other end.

5.Finally, ovarian cancer patients swear by cancer support groups because they provide forums for comparing and contrasting side effects, the practical aspects of everyday life with the disease, and also the reality check when a patient needs to alert their physician of odd or serious side effects and when they are normal manifestations of treatment.

The leading cause of death from genital malignancies in women is ovarian cancer. It accounts for almost 4% of all cancer deaths in women although not the highest incidence among reproductive tumors. Over time, the mortality rates have increased, this is most likely because of lack of early detection methods. Caucasian women show higher incidence rates of ovarian cancer than African-American women.

The cause of ovarian cancer is not known. The risk factors includes age, women older than 40 years old; Family history, also heredo-familial disease can be a major risk factor; null parity, a woman who has not given birth to an infant capable of survival; history of infertility; history of dysmenorrhea; and the use of ovulation-stimulating medications increase the risk that the p53 which is a tumor suppressor gene to mutate.

Most of these types of cancer are epithelial, although some are adenocarcinomas which are tumors that arise from glandular structures, which mostly are a component of most organs of the body. Ovarian cancer tends to spread and grow silently until manifestations such as pelvic pressure felt on adjacent organs or abdominal distention tends to occur that is when the woman should seek medical care. During which these pressure-related manifestations occur, the malignancy has usually spread to the uterus, ligaments as well as to the fallopian tubes. Also, they tend to spread to the nearby organs and associated structures. The usual routes of metastasis for this cancer are lymphatic tissues, through the blood which is hemetogenous, through the local extension and peritoneal seeding. The cancer may also invade the bowel, liver and other neighboring organs. Aggressive metastasis has occurred when the pelvic blood vessels are already involved.

There are clinical manifestations of ovarian cancer. These are urinary frequency and urgency, pleural effusion, increase in abdominal girth, weight loss accompanied by malnutrition, ascites associated with dyspnea (difficulty breathing), pain caused by the pressure from the growing tumor and also from the effects of bowel obstruction, constipation and most of all general severe pain. As we all know, Pain is subjective. This means that whenever the person says they are experiencing severe pain that is what their experiences are and should be addressed.

The indicators usually do not appear until the malignancy is already established although sometimes not until it has already spread. Sometimes the malignancy is being diagnosed at an earlier stage, although most affected individuals may eventually have terminal cancer due to late diagnosis for the reason that it is asymptomatic.

Before a woman gets too alarmed about possibly having this type of cancer gather the facts and address it in a logical, informed way.Consult your physician and give him or her all of the symptoms and move forward in determining the proper diagnosis.

Being an expectant mother is one of the joyous moments in a woman’s life. Being able to bring forth life is such a blessing and a wonderful opportunity as not all women are lucky enough to have a child. There are couples who are not fortunate to have a child maybe because of some reproductive issues. You may be capable of having a baby, but there is still something that you have to worry about – ovarian cyst pregnancy.

The rise of ovarian cyst pregnancy has brought concern to some expecting moms. Once you discovered that you are suffering from cyst on ovary, your happiness will suddenly turn into fear. Many pregnant women only find out they have ovarian cyst later in its stages because the symptoms are hard to detect early on. The cyst may disappear in its first few weeks but if it continues to grow, then you certainly would have a difficult pregnancy.

Proper medication may help you in removing the cyst. But most of the time, the cyst will still remain in your ovary and causes you so much pain during your pregnancy. Expecting moms with ovarian cyst will experience an unusually heavy load and pelvic discomfort.

The cyst may not affect the growth of your baby. However, if the cyst continues to grow there is a strong possibility of physical problems resulting from ruptured ovarian cyst. You will then suffer an extreme pain and untimely labor.

The most popular remedies for ovarian cysts are those of the different kinds of surgical procedures. The type of procedure depends on many factors such as the size and composition of the cysts, the type of cysts present in the individual, the age of the person which is most commonly more likely to cause cancer at the age of forty, and the overall health status of the woman which would also include the severity of symptoms experienced.

Ovarian cysts could be fluid-filled sac-like structures or it can take many forms of substance within its sacs, like hair, bone and skin tissue, blood and fluid of different thickness as that of pus. There are five types of ovarian cysts that occur to women in their lifetime. There are functional ovarian cysts which are basically asymptomatic in nature and can heal itself in due time, while polycystic ovaries are characterized by multiple cyst growth inside the ovary and can be remedied by either surgery or drug therapy. Endometriomas are the kind of cysts which contains blood within its sacs and can be a big risk for internal bleeding. Dermoid cysts are the types in which skin, bones or hair tissue can be found in the follicular sacs which can grow into larger sizes if not properly remedied. The fifth common type of ovarian cysts which is the cystadenoma, can be either filled with serous or mucinous type of fluids that sometimes can be a risk for cancer because these cysts can grow quite large.

The advent of natural remedies for ovarian cysts gave hope to a lot of women suffering from this kind of burden. These remedies not only propose an easy way of getting rid of ovarian cysts but also presents an alternative version in which women are not threatened by the idea of being at the mercy of surgical knives. Since hormonal imbalances are believed to be the culprit behind ovarian cysts, herbalists offered a way of naturally stimulating the body to produce their normal fill of hormones. Balance and harmony are the primary goal of these herbs aside from promoting vitality to the individuals.

Chasteberry and Red Clover are known to promote hormonal balance in women with ovarian cysts and menopausal symptoms. Black Cohosh on the other hand is known to be quite effective in regulating menstrual cycles and balancing the hormonal sequence inside the body. Dandeloin and Milk thistle are most popular for their liver cleansing abilities, while that of wild yam produces hormonal equilibrium in women. Bee pollen is another kind of natural remedy that the body benefits from because of its ability to provide necessary support for the immune system.

In addition to herbal remedies, batch flower medication could enhance the body’s ability to fight ovarian cysts. These flowers include those of Walnut, Wild Oats, and Impatiens; also that of Red Chestnut and Honeysuckle.

Diet changes are also necessary to stimulate the body’s hormones to rebuild its normal processes. A diet rich in fruits and vegetables could make a world of difference. Consuming meat or cheese products, as a recent study has concluded, causes more hormonal dilemmas than those foods rich in vitamins and antioxidants.

Have you ever wondered if you have ovarian cysts? If lately, you have been feeling uncomfortable signs such as lower back pains and aches in the legs, breast tenderness, menstrual period which is irregular, nausea coupled with vomiting, pain in the lower abdomen, pain while having sex, having difficulty in urination, and sudden unexplained weight gain, you should probably be thinking if you already have it.

Ovarian cysts are any fluid filled bodies in the ovary which can be as small as a pea or as big as a cantaloupe.

But you don’t have to worry because most ovarian cysts are benign which means that they are not cancerous and dangerous to your body. In reality, 95 percent of cysts are not really harmful and some will go away naturally.

The cysts are detected during the annual pap smear or during routine examination when the gynecologist feels the ovaries to detect any swelling in them.

Here are the different types of ovarian cysts:

-Simple cysts which come with menstrual period. These can be treated easily or will simply go away after a few periods or cycles. Simple cysts occur if the egg is not released and the ovary fills up with fluid.
-Follicular cysts of the ovary
-The corpus luteum cyst which goes away after three months
-The hematocyst which proliferates when the blood vessel breaks, and the resulting blood enters the cyst. It manifests as abdominal pain on the lower abdomen
-Chocolate cyst
-Dermoid cyst
-Ovarian carcinoma which usually signifies cancer

But for people who suffer the pains associated with cysts, there are many ovarian cysts cures and options one can take advantage of in order to end the suffering and difficulties.

For abdominal pains, menthol and camphor oils can be applied to help ease the discomfort. It is also okay to use alternate hot and cold compress on the painful area because it stimulates blood circulation and eases any tense muscles.

The ovarian cysts cures which are prescribed by physicians are the following:

-Using anti-inflammatory medicine or pain relievers
-Hormonal Pills
-Surgical intervention
-Laser intervention

Some natural ovarian cysts cures can also serve as an alternative treatment to simple ovarian cysts. These include:

-Using herbs such as black cohosh, yarrow, dandelion, bee pollen and others used as tea to relieve the ache
-Taking vitamin supplements which have A, E and C in them
-Having a Detox Diet to flush away the toxins in the body and to balance your hormone levels so that the cysts will disappear on its own
-Avoiding eating meat and other dairy products and use other protein substitutes instead
-Meditation and relaxation to release stress and balance your hormone levels

These are just some of the methods which can be used to improve the quality of life of a woman experiencing the debilitating effects of ovarian cysts which can cause pain and discomfort.

Before doing anything to your body and resorting to other ovarian cysts cures especially if they involve taking drugs or if you have any other condition or disease aside from ovarian cyst, be sure to consult your doctor first for treatment advice.

Are you one of the many women all over the world who experience discomfort in your body such as lower abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, irregular menstruation, difficulty of urination, pain while having intercourse and sudden weight gain? These signs and symptoms are usually associated with having cysts on your ovary.

Ovarian cysts consist of fluid or sometimes tissue substances that are encapsulated within an ovary. When an ovarian follicle becomes bigger than two centimeters, it is called an ovarian cyst. Ovarian cysts vary in size, shape and location. Nearly all ovarian cysts have their own participation in the natural menstrual cycle and are not dangerous which means that they are benign and not cancerous.

As an example, cysts in the ovary are experienced in women who are already in their premenopausal stage, and in the U.S, 14.8% have it in their ovaries. The cysts can develop in women of all ages and also at the age when they are likely to bear a child. Just to be sure, consulting a specialist to determine if you have a cyst and if it poses any serious threat and risk to your health is the best course of action.

These are some of the different types of ovarian cysts that one can have in their body:

-Simple cysts which go away on their own and do not pose a serious threat to the body. This kind of cyst does not need any ovarian cysts cure and is not bothersome.
-Follicular cysts
-Cysts of the corpus luteum
-Dermoid cysts
-Endometrioid cyst
-Cysts which are malignant and may cause cancer

Depending on the type of cyst and the dangers it poses to an individual, a natural ovarian cysts cure can be ideal for certain people. Listed below are some ovarian cysts cures that you can try:

-Different antioxidant supplements are available on the market. This can include natural medicine containing vitamin A,C and E.
-Herbs, such as black cohosh, dandelion and also bee pollen.
-Homeopathic treatment, such as concoctions made from plant and animal extracts which can be enjoyed as a tea or drink.
-Taking special diets which eliminate meat and poultry products and turn more to the vegetarian side will also help. Studies show that in Italy, women who have been experiencing discomfort associated with ovarian cysts were more inclined to eat meat and cheese.
-Incorporating fruits in the diet might help as well since fruits contain natural antioxidants that may help maintain the balance of the hormones.
-For pain, a home remedy such as alternate hot and cold compresses can relieve the muscle stress and aches in the lower abdomen and the pelvic region.

Just remember to consult professionals such as gynecologists and do not resort to self medication without the proper advice of your doctor. For all we know, the simple cyst in your body is not what you think it is. The symptoms manifested by other medical conditions can be similar to ovarian cysts and proper diagnosis is necessary just to be safe. However, the ovarian cysts cures mentioned can be helpful for those who would like to try alternative medications.

Many women have experienced the painful dilemma of having ovarian cysts. You probably think you know what ovarian cysts are and what it can do to your body. Cysts are small fluid-filled bag-like occurrences in the body which can be small as a pea and as big as a cantaloupe. Many women all over the world will experience having cysts in their ovaries. While some will not be able to notice it, others will have to feel inconveniences and other symptoms which the condition will bring to their body.

Here are some of the signs and symptoms that you probably have ovarian cysts:

-sharp pain in the abdomen
-pain which is exclusively in the pelvis
-feeling numb in the lower back and thighs
-experiencing urinary problems
-difficulty and feeling uncomfortable while having sex
-unexplained and sudden weight gain
-having an irregular menstrual cycle
-presence of blood in urine
-vomiting
-abnormal breast tenderness
-unexplained stress

The majority of the ovarian cysts that may occur in your body are benign which means that they are not cancerous and would not bring any harm to you. Most may even go away on their own even without any help from an ovarian cysts treatment.

The treatment for this condition depends on the size and the inconveniences the cysts bring the patient in terms of symptoms. Regular check-ups and monitoring will most likely be recommended for women who have rather small cysts.

But a cysts treatment and medical intervention might have to be necessary options for those who suffer the difficult signs and symptoms that may accompany this condition. The physician may prescribe pain relievers such as acetaminophen and anti-inflammatory medicine such as ibuprofen. Ibuprofen which is an over the counter medicine can also be taken without an initial prescription depending on the person’s medical history.

Taking a warm bath or applying a heated pad or any home remedies such as a hot bottle compress to the lower abdomen or other areas of pain which are near the ovaries can help in relaxing tense muscles and ease cramping and any bothersome feeling. It can also stimulate circulation and help in the healing of the ovaries.

After applying the warm or hot compress, apply a cold compress using a towel with ice because alternating a hot and cold compress to the lower abdomen can contribute to an increase in local circulation.

Limiting activities such as strenuous sports can also help in relieving the painful condition. Replacing sports which are strenuous to the muscles with light or moderate exercise such as walking or doing simple household chores can be helpful as well.

Another effective ovarian cysts treatment is using oral contraceptive pills or OCPs which are usually prescribed by doctors to relieve pain and regulate the menstrual cycle. Combined hormonal intervention can prevent the formation of cysts in the ovaries and this process will turn the cysts smaller.

For women who have a family history of ovarian cancer, the cysts should be monitored accordingly by a specialist. This is done by invasive methods such as laparoscopy and ultrasonography. After the biopsy has been done, doctors may conduct other procedures such as blood tests to look for cancer markers in the body.
