A vaccine used to prevent cervical cancer in women recently received FDA approval to include the prevention of anal cancer which struck 5,300 men and women in the United States last year, and led to the death of an estimated 720 people.
Gardasil is a vaccine used for the prevention of human papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16 and 18. HPV types 16 and 18 cause an estimated 70 to 75 percent of all cervical cancers, and can also lead to the development of anal, vulvar, vaginal and penile cancer. There are more than 200 types of HPV, most of which show no symptoms, and 30 to 40 of them are transmitted sexually, infecting the anal-genital regions.
According to a report by Gardasil maker Merck, “It is estimated that HPV types 16 and 18 account for approximately 80 percent of anal cancers, 75 percent of cervical cancers, 70 percent of vaginal cancers and 40 to 50 percent of vulvar cancers.” Ninety-percent of all genital wart cases are traced to types 6 and 11. WOW! What an important subject! I could repeat all the standard answers given to us by the allopathic medical community…but you can research this for yourself. And, by no means, am I suggesting that you shouldn’t listen to your personal healthcare professional. But I am giving you some ideas that you might want to study and evaluate for yourself.
In my opinion, colon cancer (or any type of cancer) is not caused by any “one” thing. It’s a result of the world we live in, including environmental toxins that are all around us and eating foods that are void of the nutrition that we must have to be healthy. This article is intended as Colon Cancer Causes Treatment and Prevention information.
The colon is our waste disposal organ. Its job is to eliminate food wastes that our body can’t break down, absorb and utilize. This waste is full of bacteria…and when we don’t eliminate regularly, the waste is allowed to sit in the colon and can lead to cancer.
Risk factors for colon cancer are age, family history, other colon disorders such as IBS and Chron’s Disease. Diets high in fat, animal protein and refined carbohydrates seem to increase risk. You should eat foods high in fiber to help keep things moving along. Digestive enzymes will be a great help in breaking down the foods you eat so your body can utilize the nutrition. We have been listening from time immemorials that prevention is better than cure and it is so true as well. Till the time the medical science can offer a permanent fix to this deadly disease, the only way of fighting cancer is – prevention. But this prevention required that one is aware of the symptoms and the warning signs of cancer.
There is always a very good hope if we can detect cancer in initial stage. But it becomes really very difficult to cure the disease in the late presentations. So we should create awareness about the cancer world wide at mass scale and this alone is the way that we can fight with cancer and reduce the number of cancer patients all across the world.
Late presentations are just because of lack of education, awareness and early diagnosis. If we are educated, aware and have facility of good healthcare where an early diagnosis can be done, we will be saved for sure. This awareness can be created in the society by telling the people about the early signs and symptoms and promoting the healthcare services. Continue reading ‘Cancer Awareness Is Pevention’ »
