Asbestos Companies and the Safety of Its Workers
The basis of mesothelioma and asbestos cancer legislation is that a lot of asbestos companies knew the material was hazardous, but did not keep workers and customers from these known hazards. Court documents have revealed that companies began to learn on asbestos related health dangers as early as 1930, but despite this information, they did nothing to keep workers or consumers safe. Instead, they let asbestos usage to grow even as diagnoses of mesothelioma and asbestos cancer expanded as well.
Asbestos companies had filled knowledge of the potential damage that could be caused by exposure to asbestos. Scientists and studies corroborated that there was a direct connection between asbestos exposure and early death. Companies of asbestos initially tried to conceal the knowledge and silence scientists who conducted studies proving the damaging effects of asbestos exposure. (more…)
